Client (Industry): A nonprofit organization that, at no charge, distributes goods to those in need across the United States.

Challenge: Faced with a rapidly approaching year-end, the client, who only six months prior was operating out of a family-owned shed, found itself in uncharted waters. Operations had moved to a brand new warehouse facility, revenues had grown 81-fold, volunteers were coming from everywhere, and demand for goods and services increased beyond imagination. And the organization needed help. Donors began asking for audited financial statements, while increased revenues mandated compliance with federal and state filing requirements. The organization had no accounting system in place or the personnel to provide the information necessary for proper financial reporting.

Solution: Without hesitation, we met with the founders and toured the new warehouse to get a better idea of what the organization did. Working together closely, we were able to get the information we needed to make federal and state filing requirement deadlines and provide donors with the information they requested. During this process, we took the opportunity to help the founders understand the importance of accurate financial reporting and provided the guidance, resources, and tools they needed to keep operations going.

Result: To this day we continue to provide this client with the resources it needs. We help by doing what we do best, which allows this nonprofit organization to focus on what it does best—help those in need.
